Job Summary

Provides QC support to QC Supervisor, Shift Techs, and Manufacturing on a day-to-day basis. Duties include testing products, recording and reporting results in applicable systems, performing packaging quality inspections, interfacing with production personnel and plant management, and basic troubleshooting on products and packaging quality issues.

Compensation Range: $25-$28 per hour

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs QC testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods in a fast-paced Laboratory environment.
  • Maintains retrievable and traceable system of quality documentation and related items along with inventory control samples.
  • Maintains raw material COA files and provides clerical support to QC Supervisor.
  • Cleans and maintains the Lab equipment and physical lab space.
  • Performs daily packaging inspections and reports results to appropriate plant resources.
  • Troubleshoots routine product or packaging quality issue and creates internal NCMs within SAP.
  • Provides Vacation and Emergency coverage for the night shift QC Technicians.
  • Provides support to QC Supervisor projects and deliverables including rework, calibrations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all appropriate Environmental Protection, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHG) policies.
  • Wears prescribed Personal Protective Equipment and ensures that prescribed safeguards are properly used.
  • Notifies Supervisor before undertaking a work activity in which he/she is not adequately trained.
  • Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to QC Supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk.
  • Understands that Safety and Environmental responsibility is a major part of Master Builders Solutions Vision and Guiding Principles. Must report all unsafe conditions and accidents immediately to appropriate Managers or Directors. Responsible for the safety of themselves and others.
  • Participates in the Brighton ERP Observation Process.
  • Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned by QC Supervisor or QC/QA Manager.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Performs routine QC testing in a timely manner that is consistent with production needs.
  • Provides daily reporting to QC Supervisor regarding packaging inspections, NCMs, and other activities.
  • Provides routine feedback to QC Supervisor regarding assigned projects and other activities.
  • Works as part of the QC team to meet department goals and deliverables.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Solid understanding of testing equipment.
  • 2-5 years of years of inspection and/or production experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and SAP highly desired.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal communication capabilities to interface daily with manufacturing, QC and Plant management.
  • Can update or create basic QC forms and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with Viscometers, FTIR and Titration Processes preferred.
  • Works will with others or alone with minimal supervision.
  • Can perform routine troubleshooting on frequently used Lab equipment.
  • Flexibility of schedule/can work a variety of afternoon and evening hours including 12 hours shift coverage.
